Sulfacetamide drops are a sulfonamide. It works by restricting the production of folic acid, which necessary for bacterial growth. chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic by inhibiting protein synthesis. It prevents protein chain elongation by inhibiting the peptidyl transferase activity of the bacterial ribosome.
