Composition

Dorzolamide HCL 2% + Timolol Maleate 0.5% Eye Drops

Dosage

One drop of Solution in conjunctival sac twice daily (morning & bedtime).

Mechanism of Action

Dorzolamide is a sulfonamide and a highly specific carbonic anhydrase II inhibitor, which is the main CA isoenzyme involved in aqueous humor secretion. Dorzolamide also accumulates in red blood cells as a result of CA-II binding Dorzolamide works by decreasing fluid production and pressure inside the eye.

Timolol decreases the secretion of aqueous humor. It has the action of reducing elevated, as well as normal, intraocular pressure. Combine effect increases retinal blood flow and increases oxygen delivery to the retina.
